Yesterday, a book I ordered, called The Dog Repair Book, arrived. I
originally purchased this book to help educate me further on understanding
emergency medical treatment techniques, but as I perused through it, I
quickly realized that this book contained far more information than I
expected. It covers everything from preventative medicine for pregnant
***es, newborn pups, elderly dogs, etc. all the way to how to find and
build a solid relationship with your vet. Furthermore, for you pet owners
who wish to continue to allow your vet to take care of all of your dog's
health needs, this book covers how to ask your vet the right questions and
how to understand why he or she is using each specific treatment. This book
covers EVERYTHING. The Dog Repair Book is written by a veterinarian
specifically for the purpose of educating people who wish to handle much of
the veterinary-type care themselves, but there is SO much information in
this book, I wouldn't be surprised if your vet could learn a thing or two
from it.
I believe this book went out of print in 1995, but I found an online
book-finder service that located a store that has it in stock. If you wish
to purchase this book (believe me, it's well worth it), follow the steps
below.
1) Go to www.bibliofind.com
2) Use the title of the book as a search string, Oregon Books will be the
only match.
3) You can either purchase the book online, or order it directly from
Oregon Books. The cost of the book is $19.95
I hope that some of you do order this book. It will definitely take some of
the anxiety and panic out of an emergency if it arises, because you will be
better prepared to handle it. Finally, this book was not written or
intended to replace your vet, but it will help you understand how to do some
things on your own and how to understand your vet's approach to treatment.
