Update: Pungo is a keeper after all !!

Here is the latest news on our new Dog Pungo.
It'll be two weeks this Sunday that we had our new Dog Pungo, at first he
showed some heavy problems walking on hardwood floor, he didn't bother with the
kitchen at all, well, up until three days ago when I found the trashcan half
empty all over the kitchen floor.
Good news is, Pungo gets better each day, he starts to listen and using the
entire houseto walk, not just the carpets.
This afternoon he started the staircase all by him self for the first time, we
had a thunderstorm and I had to go upstairs, Pungo started whinning when I went
upstairs, I called him, and finally he did the first half to the landing, but
walked right back down when I got close to him, so I went in the bed room and
kept calling him......Bingo, he came, since then he did it 4 more times without
me calling him, in fact when we got home from visiting a friend tonight he was
upstairs.
He is also a great outdoor Dog, he loves water unlike Murphy, Murphy hated
water, something that even remotly looked like a spray bottle in my hand made
him always run the opposite direction.
However I'm still not completly over the loss of Murphy, I think about him
everyday, his grave is covered with a plastic cover when it rains, that might
sound completly nuts, but it makes me feel better since he hated water so much.
It's weird how you spent more time thinking about a pet when he is not part of
your live anymore, I just feel sorry that he was cheated out of a few great
years to come, it was guessed that Murphy was a year old when I got him, if
that's so then Murphy wasn't even 10 years old yet.

Martin.

Martin,
I'm glad Pungo is doing well with you.  I understand how you feel.  Jadee
was only 2 1/2 when her kidneys failed and we lost her.  So much life she
should have had.

Martin that is wonderful news.  Aint life great!!!!!

You will pain for Murphy for a long while.  The moment of that pain will
never leave, but time will help to make it less present.  I truly feel
for your loss and keep you and Murphy in my prayers daily.  Its so hard
when their lives are so fleeting compared to ours.

Pungo will help a lot and I know you will have many happy wonderful
years with him.

Thanks so much for posting Pungos progress, its always so good to hear
stories of success.

Regards,  Donna

I'm glad to hear that Pungo has improved so much - your work with him really
paid off!  As for missing Murphy, he will always be with you.  Have you told
Pungo about Murphy? It might sound crazy, but try it, and then tell Pungo how
glad you are that he came into your life.
