UK government ruling on Quarantine GOOD NEWS!!!

Post by Connie Davi » Sun, 20 Sep 1998 04:00:00

I have just read on the BBC that finally notice is being taken regarding the outragous imprisonment
of animals for a period of 6 months, in the UK. In the next week proposals are being put forward in
the following:
They have stated that if a dog/cat has a current "passport" and is fully up to date with ALL
injections, including anti-rabies and is either chipped or tattooed, and comes from either Europe or
a country that is virtually rabies free then they will be lat into the UK, THANK GOODNESS that I
will be able to take my dogs over when I have a holiday instead of either one of the family staying
at home with the dogs.
I personally am overjoyed with this decision and hope that others from Europe and overseas will be
able to see the beauty of the UK with their pets!!

Does that mean NO quarantine period at all??? Do they list the "rabies free"
countries?

Are they considering shortening the quarantine period
for non-EU countries (ie, US?).
