Smart idea.  Tattoo her if she isn't already.  (Tattooes are usually your
social security number on her inner right thigh -- NOT ear -- and you can
register her with the National Dog Registry 1-800-NDR-DOGS.  It's a permanent
method of identification that will prevent her from EVER being used in
laboratory research if you ever lose her.)

And if you're xraying hips for breeding -- how about doing elbows, too?

I'm taking my dog to get her hips checked next week.
I read someone saying that was a good opportunity to
have her teeth cleaned at the same time. Are there
other things I cold ask the vet to do while she is under
the anesthetic?

Yes...I could never clip my dog's nails (foot phobia, I guess)
