I too find myself listed in a couple of breeds and in several forums.
Probably several more I am not even aware of. If one is active in a
breed or breeds and has shown and finished many champions it would not
surprise me to find someone on these lists without having advertised.
Same with those who are into other areas of the dog fancy. If you
also do rescue then one's name will appear in even more areas of
course. Names may be aquired from many sources obviously and anyone
wishing to put a Breeders List page together has unlimited resources
on the internet these days and make up a pretty comprehensive list
without ever contacting the people or kennels who make up that list. I
was involved in several breeds over about a 40 year period and
finished 39 or so champions in those breeds, and only bred 12 litters.
My last litter of Danes was bred in 1982 yet I still get emails from
people about Danes, so I know my name is still out there in cyperspace
as someone to contact. Do I mind? No. Rather give someone correct
information than have them contact people with fancy web pages, who
breed every year, don't test, don't show - and in fact do little
except breed. And we all know what they are called don't we?
