Teddy has lupus (a skin disorder) please help

Post by John Barman » Sat, 06 Jan 1996 04:00:00

My dog of five years, Teddy, a mixed breed (some shepherd some
collie), suffers from a connective skin tissue disorder called Lupus,
which can affect both the exterior or interior tissue.  Luckily,
Teddy's internal organs are not affected, however, the poor little
girl's nose is a painful sight.  She's lost most of the black pigment
and it's usually pink, chaffing, and just plain raw (sob).  I've
taken her to a doggie dermatologist who gave her prednisone and a
mild dose of chemotherapy, both of which did not seem to help the
poor thing.  I've also tried keeping her nose doused with a coating
of vitamin A and D ointment, bag balm, Vasoline, or Vitamin E.  Each
of these also seemed to have little affect.  (but they made me feel
better) Please, please, please, if anyone has any insight,
information, or intuition for me and my *** friend, post or email
me soon.   Thank's in advance from me and my *** little friend.
