Figuring out the cause of allergies isn't easy. Another
place to look would be at any products that you use in your
household, such as carpet cleaners, deodorizers, furniture
One of our Chihuahuas started scooting a lot; we had her
***glands checked, and they weren't full or impacted.
Then we stopped using a foam-in carpet cleaner (which we'd
started to use a few months earlier - useless stuff) and
steam-cleaned the carpets, and soon after that, she stopped
scooting. So we figured that she may have been allergic to
something in the carpet cleaner.
Sorry I can't answer your question about the guinea pig - it
sounds like a reasonable supposition, too.
Hope this helps!
