dog birthday party

I thought it would be fun to have a birthday party for my dog. Any suggestions
on games or activities or contests? There is hardly any information out there.
Thanks.

Hi!
You could start with an egg carry game.  Each owner takes dog w/leash in
one hand and a raw egg on a spoon in the other hand. Each team then
races the others to a finish line.  Those who don't drop the egg go
again until there is one winner.

Also try bobbing for bisquits. (Just like with apples, only more
appealing to dogs)

See which dog can remain in a "Stay" the longest...which has the
longest/shortest tail..

Hide several dog treats (varying types)in the back yard, or somewhere
inside and have a treasure hunt...

Have a costume contest/masquarade (sp) ball...

Perhaps you could hire a dog trainer for the party and have him/her work
with the group (owners included) on either some basics or specific
problems...

If you do have a back yard, consider setting up a small agility type
course...

These are just afew ideas off the topof my head!

Good luck!!

Do this on leashes, or you may have disputes about who found what first!

There is a book out that has homemade snacks and party type foods for dogs
if you are interested in making them although I do not know the name of it.
Have you thought of ball/flyball?  Hiding treats outside and let one dog at
a time see how many they can find?  And make small party favors to send
home...  :)  Have a good time.  I hope it is a happy birthday.
