neighbours who'd 'ave 'em

Post by Kay » Sun, 22 Jul 2001 10:46:58

After living here for 14 years I've finally fallen out with my neighbour
(  She's a lovely person, but a tad too conservation orientated.  eg you
can't cut the lawn the frogs/crickets are in season.  Then moans 'cos my
grass is too long.

However, as I said the boyz do escape from time to time and she is very good
helping me fence the garden.

Last night, my son in law came to visit, she stopped him and said can you
ask Kay to pick up the dog's mess as it's starting to smell (it's been
raining all week!!!) and please could I cut the front lawn.

I was a little bit cross.  I don't mind her saying it to me, but to my son
in law, I felt, was a bit much.  So I stuck a note thru' her door, broadly
saying, please don't talk to anyone else, if you/ve got any problems, talk
to me.

I've now had a stinking note from her.  She's asked me not to put anything
in a note again and that I am  being irresponsible not picking up after the
boys EVERY DAY, from my own back garden.  I appreciate they do litter a lot,
but they're not that big and it can't be that bad surely?  Anyway, I don't
complain about her tom cat spraying my shrubs in the front garden.

Sorry 'bout that, feel better now :-)

Every sympathy - frogs have great legs & usually have enough sense to get
out of the way pretty sharp when people with lawnmowers & strimmers come
out. I've got a big patch of ivy - they hang out in there & I leave it for
them - the rest is mine!

But what about the flies & the maggots that thrive on what your dogs put
down for them - surely they have  rights too? - then they, in turn,
encourage hedgehogs & so a perfect little eco system is born.

She's totally irresponsible for keeping an un-neutered tom cat - cat's breed
like rabbits if left to their own devises & so risk potentually fatal
conditions such as Feline Aids & Lukemia (sp) -

The frogs are in far more danger from the cat than they would be from any
gardening activities....

Glad you feel better, hope this helps!
