it's a BOXER GIRL!!!

well, elliott and i finally found our "puppy" two weeks ago.
she's a 7 1/2 month old flashy fawn boxer.  we both agree
that she's the cutest sweetie pie we've ever seen.  i don't
know which of us is more smitten with her.

the people i got her from had never taken her to the vet
<ack!>, so the day after i got her i took her in to get a
physical and get her started on her shots.  she was a Very
Good Girl at the vet's, and didn't even twitch a muscle when
she was microchipped.  she's going to be spayed ASAP.

she's a chewer and is *extremely* nosey, so she's being
crated while i'm not at home.  this is my first experience
with crating a dog, but she seems to be doing pretty well
with it.  i definitely need to work on getting my house
better puppy-proofed!

aaahhh.  the wrestle-mania and bitey-face games are
glorious.  i could sit and watch she and elliott play for
hours (and often do!).  so far there hasn't been the least
bit of aggression between the two of them.  they play
tuggies with old socks & dish towles and chew bones.  they
each have their own bones, but they would rather both chew
on the same one at the same time.

since i free feed, i only have one food bowl.  so far this
hasn't been a problem.  if it becomes one, i'll have to come
up with plan B.  they take turns taking bites of food.
somethimes, though, elliott will scoop up a huge mouthful of
food and bring it into the living room and drop it on the
floor for both of them to eat.  it's awfully cute.

i still love the bully breeds, but after only two weeks with
harriet i can't imagine ever *not* having a boxer.  <big
contented sigh>

shelly and elliott (pit bull/chow) & harriet (boxer)
