The following brief news story appeared in the Atlanta
Journal/Constitution on Tuesday, February 6, 1996 (p. B5):

"DOGS IN TROUBLE:  Animals at a shelter in Andalusia, founded by a woman
who operated a similar shelter in Rockdale County, Ga., in the 1980s, have
been spared temporarily by a circuit judge's order.  Members of the
Andalusia Area Humane Society asked for an injunction after hearing that
plans were being made to euthanize the several hundred dogs and cats at
Love and Care for God's Stray Animals Inc.  Problems at the shelter
mounted after the death last year of founder Ann Fields Lagunas, who has
received national attention when she and her former husband, Jerry Fields,
operated Life for God's Stray Animals in Conyers, Ga.  She moved the
shelter in 1989 to Alabama, where authorities were investigating her
fund-raising efforts."

I'm sending the news story to you.  Note that the judge's order is
temporary.
