My 3 1/2 yr.-old staff/gsd cross is doing weird things when I stroke him.
He's a neutered male [ouch - I'm an intact male with no luck :-)) ], and
this only happens at this time of year....
When I rub his side (either) about 1/2 way down his body, he gets a "gotta
scratch" leg. My previous dog only did this when I rubbed his chest, and it
happened all the time.
Also, back toward his tail, he has a patch of longer fur, and when I rub
this (infact any part of what equates to the lower back in us yoominz), he
squats. If I continue, he squats lower and lower; at the same time he lifts
head right up and sort of***s the air!
As I say, this only happens at this time of year (May to July - ish) and
only lasts a couple of weeks.
It strikes me that it is some mating thing, but he's neutered, so shouldn't
tat all be gone? Also considering he is male, this looks like female
It's not a problem, in fact in some ways it is amusing, and he seems to like
it, but I would like to know why it happens and is there a way to prevent
Hope you can help.
