Glen of Imaal Terriers and ARBA

Post by James D. Tegeder Jr » Sun, 15 Mar 1998 04:00:00

Just some questions:  My mother has been looking around at dogs and is
interested in knowing a little more about Glen of Imaal Terriers.  She's
been reading what she can find on the web, but I told her I'd check
around a little bit.  Anyone have any information on / experience with
these dogs that they wouldn't mind sharing?  I'm also interested in
opinions on the ARBA as a registry as I'm not too terribly familiar with
them.  Thanks in advance :)

JMO, but I hope your mother is physically fit and experienced with dogs
if she is considering a Glen of Imaal.  I like them, lots, but think
of them as the Border Collies of terriers.  Energetic and high-drive
little dogs.  If she isn't up to the demands of a Glen of Imaal, but
likes their style, have her look at a Border Terrier instead.

Thanks for the response.  She is both physically fit and experienced with
dogs (she's a former Briarder, so she's even experienced with intelligent,
high-maintenance dogs :->).  Her husband, however, is *not* (either of the
above) and as they are attempting to find a breed suitable for both of them
(although they're just looking right now and not interested in buying), I
will definitely pass this information along.  Thanks again!
