language on family newsgroups?

I don't know why I am jumping into this just so that I can be flamed, but
perhaps some of these newgroups should be moderated.  Or perhaps a moderated
dog newsgroup could be started under the alt* hierarchy (the other day when
I was aggravated and not paying much attention, I stated that this was the
alt* hierarchy, but I knew better...anyway).

Just a thought.  I mean, dogs are *family* pets, though sometimes you
wouldn't know it to read some of the trash that is posted on this ng, like
the post I just read.

But you  know, folks, I have been on-line since 1991.  Things never change
and this kind of nonsense has always been around.  Nothing is new under the
sun.

Perhaps, as an alternative, it is time to discuss the nature of a few things
with your son.  If he is old enough to show in juniors, he is old enough
that perhaps it is time to sit down and have a talk about obscenities,
freedom of speech and the first amendment.  Just another thought.

There *is* some useful stuff in these newsgroups every now and then.  I
would heartily suggest looking for a lab email list.  They are most usually
a lot tamer than newsgroups.

Whole thread going to killfile now...
