My 5 month old dalmation also had a tendency to be carsick and just
generally fussy in the car. For long trips we give her a tablespoon of
children's Gravol (which she loves... I think it's banana flavored) which
is not enough to make her sleepy but enough to make her calm and not
nauseated. For some reason since we started this on long trips she has
also been better on short trips (although she occasionally still gets the
hiccups...which can make her vomit if she doesn't stay calm). I wouldn't
reccomend this for short trips but for longer trips (more than an hour) it
allows calm and leaves puppy happy to get out at every rest stop along the
