Woofchat: Introduction

Post by rscw.. » Thu, 10 Aug 1995 04:00:00

Hi!  I'm Worf, and all the dogs on Woofchat said I should say hello
even though I don't know anyone and I'm kinda nervous about meeting
new dogs.  Hoomins don't scare me, even though one hoomin left me on
the street when it was really cold and snowy and then MOMMY found mwe
me and brought me home and that's how I came to live with MOMMY and
my cats, who I love a lot but don't love me so well.

Well, my food bowl is calling me, it was empty the last time I looked,
but something might have appeared since then, who knows?  Better to keep
an eye on it.

WOOF!  sniff, sniff.  WOOF!

Welcome Worf.  I'm Sara, the shy mastiff.  I used to be 'fraid
of other dogs, too.  But most other doggies are nice, and if
they are mean, you can pick them up by the scruff and shake
them, 'cause all dogs are little compared to me.  They 'pologize
when you put them down.

I lived wiff someone else before  Mama and my boy and my cccats.
I don't member him too much.  Mama is good.

I want to play wiff my cccats.  Will your cccats play wiff you?
An-et is ***; she thinks I'm dangerous.  Li'l fran-key will
almost play wiff me, but she is still 'fraid.  She teases me.

My food bowl is always full.  Mama says I am skinny.  I like to
yank Mama's chain by not eating.

Do you have a big head?  big ears?  or are you a big-head-wannabe?

Hi Worf, this is Max!

Don't be nervous about meeting us!  We're here to support everydoggy
during their ongoing training (training their suckerparents, that is...
heh heh heh).

Didn't your mom used to post questions about you all the time?
Are you the same one?

|> Hoomins don't scare me, even though one hoomin left me on
|> the street when it was really cold and snowy

Mom says that BADHOOMINS like this will go to a really hot
place someday and will be sorry they ever treated us dogs like
that.

|>and then MOMMY found mwe
|> me and brought me home and that's how I came to live with MOMMY

Now good have a GOODMOM and will always be taken care of.  You
are one luckylucky dog, Worf!

|> and
|> my cats, who I love a lot but don't love me so well.

Point #1:  Do NOT like Cccats.  They are evil.  They have
razor tipped paws and will gouge out your eyes and nose.
Cccats are best when they are chased up trees.

|> Well, my food bowl is calling me, it was empty the last time I looked,
|> but something might have appeared since then, who knows?  Better to keep
|> an eye on it.

Yes!  ALWAYS watch that food bowl!  I stopped watching cuz mom
never ever feeds me, so it's always empty.  I'm STAAAARRRVING!
Mom says I need to STAAAARRVE because I'm fat.  I don't know
what "fat" is, but *I* know I'm only *fluffy* cuz I have a lot
of beautifullest silky soft hair <*preen*>.  Golden Trievers
*should* be fluffy.  Are you fluffy, Worf?

Point #2:  Don't forget to dig your UnderDoggyRailRoad tunnel...
you absotively *have* to join us for some of our partypartypartys!
We just had a real good one at Molly&Que's house in Massa... Massach...
MassOfChewSits.  I think that's real close to your house, if you
are really in New Yorkie state.

And if you need help in training your mom to be the most perfect
suckermom, let us know, cuz we've been training ours for *years*,
and we all have Many Helpful Hints we can share with you.

See ya!

Worf, I think I remember reading when your mom found you
and named you.

I hate to tell you this, but your mom is like my mom and
Max's mom - she's a nerd.  You can tell by your name.  But
it's not your fault, really it's not.  Other doggies are
pretty forgiving of those of us with nerd parents.

Your friend,
Kari

Hi Worf, I'm glad you decided to get on the 'puter to talk with us.
I'm scared on new dogs, too. It's easier to meet here and everydoggie
is friendly in this place.  Did your Mama or Daddy write to our MamasandDaddys
about you?  Because your name is very familiar.  I think our mamas used
to talk about 'gression and trying to make us not be scaredscaredscared
of other dogs

Hoomins don't scare me, even though one hoomin left me on

You know snow?  You must be a lucky dog.  I only hear about it on WoofChats.
BADHOOMIN to leave you cold on the street.  I'm glad you were rescued by
your GOOD MOM.

Worf, you gotta learn that cats are for chasing.  That is why doG put
them on earth.  You can't chase them when MamaandDaddy are around, though.
If you do, the pennycan will come flying at you.  Or you'll get hit by
a flying stream of b*ath from a plastic bottle.

You do have to watch those food bowls.  Moms fill them when you're not
looking.  And I'm not careful, stoopid Chessa (the little dog at our
house.  Mama's boy calls her "the angry slipper") will get there
first.  Then she'll keep guard on it and you may have to wait about
a zillion years til she leaves.

What kind of dog are you?  Do you have big ears?  Can I sniff your butt?

Well?  Max's mom did give him 2 dinners, just recently.
I get all the food I want.

Waddya think?

Hi Sara (and Worf),

We want to be in the club.  Dakota's head is not as big as yours, Sara,
but
our HWMBO said it was pretty big.  Mom can't put his training
collar on over his head 'cuz then it would be too big for his neck.
And when I was a puppy, I tried to make my head bigger!  I used to
bump my head on things (like the coffee table when I was little enough
to run underneath it) and I got a big bump and the TED had to drain
it!  A bunch of times!  Now I have a regular head but I still have a
bump, which makes me look like my head is trying to get bigger.

Hi, Worf,
We won't scare you.  Wanna sniff me?

Zoe and Dakota

Hi Worf,

We like all kinds of doggies on the 'pooter.  That was a bad
hoomin who left you on the street.  It you know where they live, we'll
do something *** on their yard when our mom isn't looking.  At least
a good one found you.  Don't let those kats scare  you.  They think they
know everything, but sooner or later they will need you to perteck them.
Me and Chelsea don't know too many kats, cause our mom won't let us near
any.  All we want to do is taste them.  They leave us good treats in
mom's flower boxes, but she makes us spit them out.  She never lets us
have anything good.

Our food bowl always has cereal in case we get the munchies.  Mom
says we need to eat more cereal and less snaks, but what does she know.
She eats stuff we don't even like, like russell's brouts--YUCK!  Does your
hoomin eat icky stuff, too?  Sometimes our mom gives us good treats, like
toast.  She put stuff in this machine and when the bell rings we get
warm toast.  Dad doesn't share anything wif us.  He calls us beggars.  We
tried all kind of ways to make him feel sorry for us, but he knows we're
faking.  Sometimes I think we would die if mom didn't give us a toast.
Do you have any abice on how to train our dad.  He's pretty stubborn and
won't believe us.

Cypress, the Boxer (Aw mom, can't I just*** the kat once?)
and
Chelsea, the JRT (Gee mom, if the kat can groom itself, why can't I help?)

This is Skippy (the Airedale Terror from New Yorkie)..from Woofchat IRC.
You really got to learn your suckermom so she will leave you some
T*R*E*A*T*S in your bowl. My mommy thinks she buries them under the doggie
food, but I smelled them there and poked my nose to the bottom of the dish
an dug em out...silly suckermom! Thinks she fooled ole Skippy!

See you on chat again on Caterday? or Funday?  Maybe the good hoomin will
bring more peanut butter T*R*E*A*T*S.

WOOwooWOOF!

Hi Worf, glad to see you are being brave and woofchatting on rpdm!  We missed
you on woofchat the last couple of times.  We were teaching Harry the pup how
to do tricky sneaky things like stealing tissues out of the garbage can and Skippy
was growling at me.  I could have used your help cuz Harry really wants to learn
all this sneaky stuff, right Harry?

This is soooooo true, Kari.  I'm surprised we got normal names
instead of, oh.... say.... Kosh or G'Kar or Odo or Picard, etc.

As a matter of fact, naming me Max is probably the *only*
normal, non-nerdy thing she's done.  Thank doG she had a moment
of sanity when the name game started.

It's a stigma we all have to live with.

Hey Worf - Rafiki here.  Glad to see you in not realtime.  I've missed the
last few woofchats too 'cause I'm recuperating from being sliced up.  In
case you're confused, there was another Worf who talked sometimes on the
newsgroup.  I also know a newfie Worf from our dog park, so I guess there
are imposters everywhere.

I think you ought to tell the other doggies here about your diet.  It could
start some real interesting discussions.
