Maggie spent the weekend getting fluids every 12 hours until Monday when our
vet was back in town. We had to take her to VCA, (which I did not like), and
they gave her subcutaneous fluids, and two injections of reglan for nausea.
Mags did good Saturday, with hardly any vomiting, and most of Sunday...then
sunday night she began vomiting again...this time with bits of ***
Monday morning first thing, we took her back to Arena. Our vet told us she
was in bad shape, and warned us that alot of dogs don't make it back from
that point. They did *** work again and said her potassium was low and her
Electrolytes were off, and suggested an IV. She stayed the whole day and
then overnight. The Dr. called us Tuesday morning and said when he came in,
Maggie actually wagged her tail at him!!!! Needless to say we were
overjoyed! It was a sign to us that she was still our little fighter. He let
us pick her up yesterday evening and take her home, with some reglan and
pepcid and antibiotics. Last night she seemed to be more like her old self
than she has since this whole thing started. Then today, she don't want to
get out of bed much. SHe looked a lil like before again, and I'm scared. If
she relapses I think I'll go crazy. She's had a couple sips of water (per
the vets instructions) and so far hasn't vomited, but she still has diarhea
and doesn't even have the little bit of energy she semed to have regained
Anyone out there who believes in prayer...if you dont mind, we'd appreciate
it if you could include Maggie in them tonight.
Thanks for letting me vent here.
