OMG, that is so sad and sick.
I feel very much for this poor animal,
i could not even imagine or comprehend how any human being could
do such a thing to any animal. :o(

If someone did such a thing to an animal in this country (Canada)
he would be facing a minimum jail sentence of 2 years in a provincial
prison, and if no other prisoner got to him first, someone else would.
There is a fine line between a theif and someone like that.
Atleast a theif would get along good with other thievs in a prison,
but someone such as this, wouldn't survive in any prison in this
country. Very very sick.....
Australia needs to change this law.
and fast......

The common consensus is "They are only animals."  But a little thought
and some insight reveals that a person who is cruel to animals has no
problem being cruel to people either.
In today's "Seattle PI" is a story out of Fallon, Nevada, about two navy
airmen who shot to death eight pregnant cows.  One cow was shot 12 times
and another shot "as she was giving birth".
Joshua Osinki of Scotsdale, Ariz. and Alan Peters of Coos Bay, Ore.,
faced up to 10 years in prison for killing the cows last September.
But Churchill County District Judge Archie Blake on Tuesday suspended
the prison sentences for grand larceny.  [ The good judge must regard
the animals as "meat" and property and is willing to ignore the young
men's  hatred for females which i think so obvious from the facts.]
The judge ordered them to serve 54 additional days in the Co. jail and
200 hours of community service and placed them on probation for five
years.  [ Maybe this is a more severe sentence than one for animal
cruelty would bring under Nevada law and so maybe the judge is doing the
right thing???]
The young men must also reimburse the navy the $5,600 paid to the owners
of the cows and the $376 for the disposal of the bodies.
They were given less than honorable discharges after their arrest.
Wouldn't you like to know these facts before your daughter went out with
either one of them?
yr friend, lynne
