by Animal Ark has recently added a new service to our web site (located at
http://www.animalark.mn.org) to allow people to share and exchange
information and other pet-related material, like pet photos.
The new service was made available today and differs from many of the
online newsgroups or forums in a number of very important ways:
1) This resource will be monitored for inappropriate or abusive
content. We hope this will make this new online community a more
pleasant place to exchange animal-related information than are many of
the other resources available on the Net.
2) While the discussion group will be monitored, it will not be
moderated. In other words, we will not censor or attempt to control
content so long as it does not violate any of the published rules for
the site.
3) Content can be categorized by either general topics or more specific
topics. This should make it easier for people to locate information
that is relevant to them.
4) Once you register to contribute to the discussion, there are a
number of online services of which you may take advantage. For example,
you may manage your own "Interest Profile. If messages are posted
relating to subjects in your interest profile, you can choose to have
the system email you to let you know they have been posted.
Additionally, you may or may not choose to publish your own "user
profile" which will provide other users of the discussion group with
information about you.
It is our hope that this resource proves to be valuable to you.
Discussion categories include, pet nutrition, cute animal stories,
favorite pet photos, pet overpopulation, animal rescue as well as many
others.

provided from our home page.
