Walking Dandruff Mites

Hi

My cat seems to have "walking dandruff mites"...tiny white bugs that
cause intense itching in pets and their owners.  Does anyone know how to
get rid of these critters?

Sounds like lice.  Treatment is similar to flea problems:  treat the
animal, treat the environment, repeat weekly for many weeks!  I've
heard that lice are tougher to get rid of than fleas.  Also that lice
are usually species-specific, ie., bird lice only like birds, cow lice
only like cows, and so forth.  Don't know if that is true.  Ask your
vet for advice on this, to be sure you are getting accurate info!

I've never heard of these mites...but sounds like you might want to
try washing your cat to help get rid of them for starters...but I dont
know much about cats...Do cats "allow" you to wash them (smile)???
