Temperament tests

Post by Karen Owe » Sun, 08 Oct 1995 04:00:00

I'm looking for dog temperament tests beyond the one in _The Art of
Raising a Puppy_, which I believe is the Volhard test.  In particular,
I'm looking for an *** dog test; I know there's one out there
somewhere, but I can't remember where I saw it.

The Volhart's use a puppy evaluation test that most breeders use.

*** test is found in any schutzhund book and is the basis for the TT
certificate issued to dogs passing it.

The CGC is on a pass/fail basis - I'm looking for a test that
evaluates on a graded scale, preferably one that grades mostly for
social ***.

I'll check that one out, although I'm not looking for anything to help
me choose a dog (got as many as I can handle at the moment!).  I'm
looking for something I can use in an experiment for an animal behavior
course - hopefully a test that evaluates current ***
tendencies,  rather than one designed to predict future temperament in puppies.

Would you happen to know if any of these are in print, and if
so, what titles they're under?  My last resort is to check out every dog
book from the library that I've ever read to search for that one ***
test I know I saw somewhere.  Thanks for the suggestions, though!
