vomitting dog HELP!!

Hi all,

I have a big problem with a one year old dog,
always vomitting when being driven around
in a car. We already tried a lot of straight
forward tricks, but without any success.

Does anybody have good ideas and/or similar
experiences? Any help will be appreciated!

Thanks in advance

leave a window open enough for the dog to put his nose out to get fresh
air.  you may even want to try letting him ride in the front seat.
people as well as dogs get car sick, some just can't ride in  the back.

Dramamine or other motion sickness meds if you're taking a long trip.

Also, try giving him some ginger.  That's been known to help prevent
motion sickness.

We had a mini dachshund that used to do this.  We finally resorted to
the sickness pills from the vet.  they worked great.  Of course, not
feeding them before travel and letting them travel in their crate only
and things like that help alot.  they also suggested that we cover his
crate and encourage him to sleep during travel.  In the end, we just
gave him pills for long trips (1 hour or more)   good luck

bye the way, he never out grew this

We travel alot with our dogs because we go to alot of shows. I always
have one who will get sick or something. We have a large bottle of TUMS
antacid pills and give all the dogs 2 each just before we go. It seems
to help because I don't have the problem anymore. I think the idead of
going somewhere gets them too e***d and churns the stomach juices.
Also we use acidophilus pills, this also works.  good luck!   Mike
