HF>( still, while brushing your plants does work, try to keep the temp down,
HF>and the light-level up to get top quality seedlings.)

also, have soft music playing in the background, and a carafe of
compost tea. and pull the blinds if the neighbors are nosy. ;)

Hi Tim.
Are you in any way insinuating that you don't think mechanical stress
/ brushing the seedlings wont work.  That's up to you.  But for the rest,
I could supply at least 50 litterature references to experiments demonstrating
various responses of plants to mechanical stress.  Every experiment has
recorded reduced elongation growth.

I do apologize for responding to flamebait like the above writing,
BUT, I do not like to be clasified with compost tea and soft music.
(which have NO experiments in support of their effectiveness.
In fact, the effect of music on plants has been examined, in the best
of modern tests, with no detectable response. (too bad)

naaaa. i had read something of this, but thinking its odd enough i
talk to plants, let alone stroke 'em off, have never tried it. but
  hey, whatever works for you.

flamebait?? i take umbrage. just a little leg pulling. actually, im
interested in exactly *how* you 'mechanically stress' the plants and
why this would work. do the seedlings think they are bumping into
competition, and are spurting up to grab the most sun?
