HELP!! Good houseplant for artificial light?

Steph,
I have never had the good fortune of a "green thumb" as my father does, so I
asked him for suggestions on your situation.  It would help to know what area
of the country (zone) you are in also.
He suggests philodendron scandens or Epiprmmunum pinnatum (pothos or marble
queen).  Both can be easily started from cuttings off a vine & placed in a tall
glass of water.  The pothos needs light to be varigated, but it is a sturdy
plant. Both plants are climbers and will need room on your work-area to either
spread out or grow up a wood stake of some sort.  They are both quite forgiving
if you forget to water them every now & then.
Your local nursery, K-Mart or Target normally have plants that are suitable for
the conditions you speak of & have them displayed inside their stores.  Good
luck in your search.
