Old T.V. series-- The Joy Of Gardening

Post by IMDS9M » Sun, 08 Jun 1997 04:00:00

Back in the late 70's and early 80's there was a syndicated gardening show
by an outfit called Garden Way. The name of the show was "The Joy of
Gardening".
Can anyone give me a source of video cassettes of that old show?
I am a middle school horticulture teacher here in Los Angeles, and for
years I used some of those shows to illustrate gardening techniques to my
6th through 8th graders. I orignally recorded them off of KABC, Channel 7
here in Los Angeles.
Now after years of use, some of them are breaking down, and the quality
has degraded (Cheap Tape). I am looking to replace some of my favorites.
Mr.*** Raymond was the host of the show. By the way, is he still
alive?
Also, can anyone out there point me in the direction of some good
teaching lesson plans for horticulture on AOL or the NET?

Thanks
Larry Newson

Just in case you can't find replacement tapes of the program I suggest you make duplicates of the
tapes you have before they deteriorate completely. You could do it yourself with a second VCR and a
set of cables or have it done for you. It would also probably cost a lot less than trying to find
replacements elsewhere and this way you also have backup copies of your favorites. It is a good idea
to do this periodically when you have something you may not be able to replace - even though the
quality is usually somewhat lower on the copy than the original - at least you will have them.
