Growing cuttings for Indian Hawthorn, Viburnums and general ornamentals-advice sought

Post by a.. » Sun, 31 Aug 1997 04:00:00

We have a 60ft x 30ft greenhouse in Central Florida, USA and we wish
to diversify our activities by propagating cuttings from Indian
Hawthorn, Viburnams and general woody ornamentals

The greenhouse has a water mist system which is set up to operate
every 8 minutes from 8am to 7 pm.  (This can be adjusted as required.)

We would specifically like to know:

Whether the soil should be sprayed with fungicide before
inserting the cuttings.

The composition of the soil considered most suitable for optimum
results.

We would also appreciate receiving any general advice regarding this
operation.

All comments gratefully received either  to this group or directly by
