RFD: rec.gardens.orchids

Post by Robert Hi » Sat, 02 Apr 1994 00:58:50

I would like to start a Request for Discussion to create a new group,
rec.gardens.orchids. The charter of this group will be the discussion of orchid
care, hybridization, and saving orchids in the wild. I foresee this group as
being unmoderated. There is currently an Orchid growers discussion list, but it
uses a mail server, and is not condusive to the free flow of ideas on orchid
growing and hybridization.

                                        Thank You,
                                                Bob Hill

I have placed an RFD for a new group, rec.gardens.orchids in news.groups and
news.announce.newgroups. It should have posted here as well, but did not. I am
requesting a new group for the discussion of orchids - orchid care, hybridizing,
and any other questions for orchid growers. I would like to urge everybody to
vote 'yes' for this group when the Call For Votes comes up next month. And if the
group is passed, I would like to invite everybody, current orchid growers and the
orchid curious alike to please subscribe to this group. Thank You.

Do NOT use this as a mailing list.  Voters are not necessarily
interested in receiving email about the subject of the vote, and some
