Tomato seedling question

Post by BopShopT » Fri, 05 May 1995 04:00:00

My newborn tomato seedlings in Jiffy 7 pellets dried out and wilted when I
went away for 5 days.  They looked dead, but I watered anyway and they
came back to life!  They are now several weeks old, and aside from the
seed leaves being a bit curly, they seem to be doing well.  Will they
continue to do well and produce good fruit, or will the "brush with death"
have too much of an effect on them in their later lives?  Can I count on
these guys, or do I need to start over?
Thanks!

Sheila --
I think they'll be just fine.  Tomatos are pretty tough, and a little
stress (lack of water) will help them adjust to real life outdoors.  I'd
say if they look good and are continuing to grow, you don't need to start
over.
