Well, at present I have 5 baby boars for pets with no pedigrees.
One is even a Am. Satin.

Peaceful Acres Rocket (Am. Satin carrier REO/white) is expecting a
litter sire by Cavy Carat's Squire (Am. Satin carrier
Choc/cream/white) expected any time now.

Next up is Peaceful Acres Squaw (Am. Red/white) bred to CHC's
Rothschild (American Satin Beige/white), litter due in November.

Peaceful Acres Slippers (Am. Satin carrier REO/white is bred to
Carat's Ham Glaze (Am. Satin REO/white) for a Nov. 13th litter.

In December Peaceful Acres Falling Star (Am. Satin carrier
REO/white) and CHC's Rothschild (Am. Satin Beige/White) are
expecting a litter.

Then Finn's Cherokee Maid (Am. Red/white) and Cavy Carat's Squire
(Am. Satin carrier Choc/cream/white)will be producing a really nice
litter of Am. Satin Carriers.

A planned litter is Carat's Million $ Baby (Am. Satin
REO/beige/white) and CHC's Rothschild (American Satin Beige/white)
which will probably be a January 2003 litter.

In the rattery we are just getting the first breedings going.  Blue
Jeans did not take and therefore we will try that again in a couple
of days.

Tee is still in the not sure stage.

No other breedings are planned until next month.

The mousery is just getting going very well.  I was able to buy out
a group of mice from a local pet store.  There are very nicely
marked Fox and Tan mice and a couple of Calicos.  I am quite e***d
at being able to get these.

I've made some informational pages for rats, mice and cavies and put
them on my website.  Nothing fantastic, just simple facts and that.

Well that is about it except for the fact I finally got a new
position with my company with much more interest and activity as
well as growth potential.  So now I am a happy camper there too.

Have a great day!

Judith

Am I correct in reading that you are breeding pet store rats with unknown
historys? Why not purchase quality rats from quality breeders and breed?

When there are many wonderful breeders with quality rats, breeding pet store
stock, especially rats the original breeders didn't care about and sold as
snake food...it just doesn't seem okay in my book. While those rats can make
great pets, they really shouldn't be bred.

Would you kindly tell me how did the Original Breeders of fancy rats
get started?

Doesn't really matter any way.  I don't have any more spare time to
play games on the Google groups.

You may answer if you wish, but I am not here.

Wow Judith, couldn't have put it much better than that myself. As for the
original breeders... They didn't start with pet store rats, they started with
their own colony of wild rats, bred for the pits in Victorian times. They
unusally marked or colored ones were saved from the rat pits and bred as pets,
and they were popular pets among Victorian women. I will assume, though, that
you didn't mean that far back, but still, you know as well as I do that there
are plenty of sources of healthy, pedigreed rats in Washington. I have plenty
of stock from WA. What, won't they sell to you?

It is undisputable now that a serious breeder of any species will search for
breeding stock with long, lovely, healthy pedigrees. Unfortunately I didn't
know who you were when I bought a few of mine, as your rattery can be seen in
the 5th generation of two of my rats. MSR Sebastian, Herbie, Vera, etc. Proving
that at one time, you did have pedigreed stock... Were'd they all go, Judith?
Where'd they all go? Why do you choose to breed pet store feeders when there
are plenty of wonderful rats available from RSCL, SPR... Even Elk Trails, who
I'm also not particularly found of, but I'm sure you and Amy would get along
smashingly.

You're an ***, Judith. You know what you've done and what you're doing is
strange and not acceptable in the eyes of your peers, yet you continually
flaunt your behavior brazenly. It's a slap in the face to us all.

No, not a slap in everyone's face.  Just those who are continually
trying to be offensive and ***, like your self.
