Things we Do

Post by BlueJean » Sun, 26 Oct 2003 03:06:12

I've been lurking awhile and I decided to delurk and tell my story...  I
have a sweetheart named Harley.  He is a loner rat since M&M died.  The
death of M&M was a bit *** my son and he didn't even want Harley around
anymore.  Rather than get another, and put my son through that again, I
decided to see if I could keep Harley happy without a companion.

Anyway, to try and combat lonliness, I moved Harley to my office during the
work week.  Harley and I share an office where he lives on a bookcase shelf.
He seems very happy there and he has quite a bit of human companionship
since many people drop by to see him, pet him and laugh at his antics.

When the boss is out of town, I allow Harley to run around on my desktop.
He's not a jumper so he is perfectly safe there.  In two months, he's never
even gotten close to the edge.  He is particularly fond of the wire in/out
trays on my desk and constantly explores them all.

Well, I did something today that only this group could truly appreciate.  I
took my boss some papers to sign, that had been peed on.  It was hardly
noticeable, and she didn't notice it, but I saw it just as I was crossing
the threshold into her office.  I almost burst out laughing...

As I type right now, Harley is sittin in my middle basket, wiggling his ears
and bruxing at me...

And that's my story.
