Fear Factor show - rat pit

Post by Carol » Wed, 13 Jun 2001 12:00:41

Did any of you see the show "Fear Factor" on NBC tonight? One of the
"stunts" consisted in laying down, tied up, in a pit filled with 400
rats for four minutes. The contestants were totally horrified at the
idea... one guy even gave up without trying and left. This is a
"challenge" I would have passed most easily, as I'm sure any of you
would have too :) Turned out the cute little rats were just walking
over the contestants, checking them out, sniffing them, poking at
their ears and mouths, etc -- like rats do. I just felt sorry for the
rats having to go through this, being poured into the pit, with a
screaming person under them...

I guess some people are as terrified of being in a rat pit as I would
be in an insect pit. But rats are soooo cute! (and only have 4 legs!)

One of the ladies had covered herself in coconut tanning oil, and she
got the worst of it!

Well, that's what I *thought* - until I saw that the contestants were
all BAREFOOT!!!! My God, that was terrifying - to think of the damage
my rats could do if I was tied down with my toes exposed!
EEEEYYAAAH!!!!!

Turned out the cute little rats were just walking

I liked the crazy guy who sneaked off after his trip to the pit and bit
himself all over to scare the other contestants!!!!

heh, what would be good would be to write into ones of those shows and have
all your friends agree to say that the one thing you can't stand is rats. on
the show, when they reveal the pit o' rats, you could sheirk and make a
fuss, get in the pit shaking and then start smiling and laughing. you could
also refuse to come out, instead cuddling our *** friends.

Hee Hee .......... I thought that too! :-)

I saw advertised on the TV tonight that they are going to be showing this
programme on British TV next week on Sky One. It is going to be in place of
Boot Camp - Which I just watched and thought it was great!!

So, from the 19th we can have a good peek at the ratties too :-)
