First let me say we have an appointment at the vet in a couple of hours, but
while I wait I was wondering if anybody had heard of anything like this before?
Our 2 year old doe is having trouble walking because she seems to be losing
her balance. She does not want Banana, which is serious.  It seems to be
something in the nervous system, one side weaker than the other.  She is
generally unhappy. Yesterday she appeared fine.  any ideas?  Thanks for any
input.  Shelly

I am guessing this might be "head-tilt" also called wryneck.  This is what some
of us are dealing with right now.  It includes tipping head sideways, rolling
and falling because of loss of balance. Seems it comes from an inner ear
infection or abcess.  Very hard to treat.  Get to the vet and let us know how
things look. Good luck, Shelly!

Hi, Shelly -

This may be a form of head tilt or some kind of inner ear infection if
she is finding it hard to balance.  Good luck in treating it and PLEASE
let us know what the vet said and how she is doing!

Sending good thoughts and love!

I gotta agree with Robby, sounds like head tilt. Good luck and please keep
us updated, and to be sure, somewhere there is a bunny doing a medicinal
dance!

Shelly,
I will agree with the head tilt thing too.  I have heard that it can also be
caused be ear mites.  You are able to see signs of ear mites, but you cannot
see the mites themselves.  From what I know, the mites leave a redish, browish
crusty residue inside the ear.  This is actually dried *** from the mites
feeding on the lining of the ear.  If the mites get too far down in the ear -
it will cause infection.

Good luck - I hope you found it soon enough to treat with minimal side effects.
I did have a bunny who had permenant head tilt - as the results usually are
permenent.
