Remember Chad?

Post by kathry » Wed, 21 Mar 2001 04:59:43

Hi,
about 3 or 4 weeks ago I posted about this beautiful dutch bunny named
Chad.... he's brown and on his left side it's all brown with a ***sy
stripe of white and on his right side he had the "normal" markings for a
dutchie..... beautiful, wonderful personality.... was gonna adopt him
but someone else took him home.... here's a very sad update......
Chad is fine.... but he's back at the petstore. =( the lady who adopted
him absolutely loved him but had to return him because of her
landlord.... the guy apparently allowed dogs, cats, mice, rats, gerbils
but didn't allow rabbits..... she asked that the petstore hold on to him
until she moves (the 15th of next month) into her house. meanwhile, I'm
gonna go and visit with him for a while tonight.... I do wish I could
bring him home but I know I can't.... besides.... this lady loves
bunnies! she's gonna get him a spayed girlfriend from the HRS so of this
I"m very happy to hear. =) she loved his antics so much and absolutely
hates being away from him..... so this is the update..... unfortunately,
if in her new house, the landlord won't allow bunnies (or in general...
pets) then she's forced to have to give the little guy up....
completely. In either case..... I know he'll be fine..... I'll just
visit him for a while. =)
HUGS!
Kathryn

Give Chad aka Cookie a hug from me and tell him I have my fingers crossed
that it works out ok.  Dammit, I wish I had the money to bring him to UK :-(

A Farthing is veeeeery old money, pre-decimal - Victorian - ish. Sigh. I
gotta stop buying frivolous things. Yup, no more stuff for hubby :-)

Hey, Patch and Ellie,

I'll bet it costs almost nothing to fly a bun to England. But does it have to
stay in quarantine? Love it that you say "farthing" Patch. I still have one
around somewhere... had an English Robin on it. Too bad they did away with the
farthing. But I doubt there would be anything at all that you could buy with one
now...what was it.. a quarter of a penny!?

Hi,
Yes, sadly, quarantine is still necessary for buns. It would cost about 1200
pounds worth of Farthings :-)

I believe that the bun will be selling for between $5 and $10.... he's about 5
months old and not yet neutered..... In talking to the petstore people last
night.... it doesn't look like the lady will be able to get him at all.....
*sigh*

oh goodness!!! I definately want to!!!! but as once was said..... it
wouldn't be fair to him to have him as one of 7 bunnies in my home....
right now I've got 6..... I do agree that it wouldn't be fair.... the
lady at the pet store said that if Chad doesn't get adopted soon she'll
take him home!! but still.... *sigh* I love my buns but 6 truly is the
limit....
