Thank you very much, Carla.

Have to admit I am concerned about this one.

I am concerned particularly for the folks who refused to evacuate.

Think it's going to be bad. Wish I didn't, but I do.

Ira has to go to work. A coworker is picking him up tomorrow morning, at
least that is the plan. The Jimmy Kimmel show is broadcasting from Ira's
workplace this week. Ira has been busy as a one=armed paper hanger.

He'll probably stay at work tomorrow night and maybe Tuesday, too.

The buns and I will be holding down the fort in Bay Ridge.

Expect we may lose power so may not be able to post. My backup computer
battery chose an awkward time to get very, very sick. If I can post, I will.

Nona

PS good luck and be careful, Donna--and all the rest of you
right-coasters, too.

So far so good, but they say the worst is to come.

Ira did get in to work, and he says all is well.

We didn't get to much rain. But, the wind is blowing like crazy tonight.

Jimmy Kimmel canceled tonight's show, wouldn't you know it.

The buns and I soldiered through, at least so far.

Con Edison robo-called us that we might lose power, but it hasn't
happened yet.

The City has some serious, uh, dampness issues, and other issues as
well. Looks like we'll be able to shake the water from our fur,***
ourselves dry, and get back to normal, eventually. Emphasis on the
"eventually".

Our electric went off 7 times and it came back on a few seconds later.
Our lights flickered a bunch of times, too. We were lucky not to loose
our power. But, some of the nearby towns still didn't have power.
There's so many trees and poles down on the roads, that the schools
won't be open until Thursday. The kids are loving it. LOL My 2 buns got
scared a few times when the wind was carrying on. I never would've
thought that we'd have a hurricane where we live. There's a first for
everything, I guess. LOL ~Donna~

We were very lucky here. Bay Ridge was largely spared. Others weren't so
lucky, alas.

Ira stayed at BAM Monday night, trying to help the Jimmy Kimmel crew.
Kimmel crew canceled the Monday show anyway. Guess the guests couldn't
make it. But they are on tonight. Watch or tape if you'd like to see
where Ira works--one of the theaters anyway. They'll be broadcasting
from there thru the end of this week.

We are soon to move to our "new" house, which also was spared.

We are very, very blessed.

BTW, the buns are *not* enthusiastic about the impending move. Of
course, they don't know what is happening (though I've told them we
bought them a house). They just know that the sectional, formerly the
main piece of furniture in our living room, was carried out. Now it has
been replaced by a number of empty cardboard boxes.

They do not like the change, not one little bit.

You must live close to where the Jimmy Kimmel studio is. Is Ira your
husband? Have you ever gone to his show? A little something about my
daughter, Candy. She and my husband love The Walton's Show. They watch
the re-runs most everyday. This year is the Walton's 40th Anniversary of
their program. My daughter made their 40th Anniversary cake for their
party. She made the cake look like the Walton's house and she made the
garage and their old truck out of cake, too. The actors and actresses
that were the kids on the program Candy met all of them, and they loved
the cakes she made for them. She even put little lights in windows inthe
cake, and than she asked to have the lights turned off and she turned
the lights on in the cake windows. The Walton kids said goodnight to
their family just like they did on the program, then.  Your buns can
tell that something different is going on in their house. They will miss
it for a short time after you move. They will get used to their new
house real fast.  I wish you the best in your new house. When are you
moving in it? Take your time and don't hurt yourself. Have a nice day.

I think Kimmel usually broadcasts from California.  They picked a heck
of a time to take their show on the road for a week in Brooklyn.

Thank you for the pictures of the cake and your daughter. That cake was
marvelous. Hmmm... bet it tasted good, too.

We don't know when exactly we are moving. The house renovation isn't
finished yet, but it is close. I'm pretty sure we will be completely
moved before the end of November.

Nona, Thanks for the compliment on Candy's cake. Her cakes are moist and
they taste good.
