Help! Sick Dutch Rabbits

Post by Emtmomat9 » Thu, 17 May 2001 12:37:57

A friend of ours raises rabbits, Dutch, Mini Lop and New Zealands.  The Dutch
Rabbits are becoming sick and 8 *** Dutch rabbits have died.  The other
breeds don't seem to be affected as of yet.  The symptoms are loss of appitite,
a couple of hours later they start bleeding from the nose.  They become
lethargic, laying limp in their cages.  By the next day, they have died.  We've
looked into VHD and it seems a possiblity.  However since the two other breeds
don't appear to be affected, we're not sure.  If anyone has experienced this

Thanks!

Please involve a vet as soon as possible. Like now!

If it is VHD, it is an incredibly dangerous and contagious disease fully
cablable of putting every rabbit in the country at risk.
