Sometime during the night the great chocolate bunny passed.  He lived
to a ripe old age of 11.5 years.  In all those years, the only illness
he suffered was an ear infection.  In the last month of his life he
lost the use of his hind legs.  His passing was peaceful.  He slept
most of the day yesterday.  I bathed him last night and wrapped him up
like a baby and Nicholas and I craddled him for much of the evening.
His breathing was shallow and I knew this to be his last night with
us.  He was one of the last surviving members of the UHF and the
inspiration of many bunny fiction stories.  He was energetic, sneaky,
and like to tease us by running when we tried to pet him.  He was my
one and only pet store bunny that we bought after Sept. 11th.  He is
older than my only son.  He joins our bunnies Wendy, Cartman, Boo Boo
& Thelma at the bridge.  He will be also be greeted by the many APR
buns who have come and gone before him.  Rest well my chocolate rex
bunny.  We love you.

I am so sorry, Lisa.

Hershey was one of the great ones.

He will be much missed by many.

I wish they did not have to go, ever.

We are sorry that Hershey's time had come to cross The Bridge.  It's been a long time since I've heard the UHF mentioned and Hershey leaves a lot of memories.  We will light our special rememberance candle in his honor.

Rest in Peace Hershey.

Mr. Patches (meeting a special UHF member at The Bridge)

Hi
It is sad but what a character to remember! We're always surprised that such
small animals can be so big in our lives. Thanks to APR we're in the know
too.
God Bless.

Thank you.  I think so far what I miss the most is his e***ment for the morning carrot routine.  It would start when the dog got up, the bird would squawk and the rabbits would jump with anticipation of their 3 carrots. The morning when Hershey was gone, I opened his cage, laid the carrots by him one last time and cried. My hubby even got tears in his eyes as I did that.

Oh Lisa, that is so so sad:{It is hard to believe they are not here in the body anymore, there are so many day to day things that they do and you will be looking for him when these things come naturally for you to expect from his daily routine.Carla.

Hi
I suppose it is very like the Ancient Egyptians putting funeral gifts in
with the deceased but we did the same with both Panda and Little H.
