Happy Bunny Mother's Day everyone!  Yesterday Scott and I tooke Trixie to the
Human Society to meet her potential bunny friend.  We wanted so badly to save
one of those bunnies.  Although Trixie did kinda of get along with some of the
bunnies....Scott and I didn't like the whole experience.  I found my experience
to be very unprofessional.  I am very sure that others have had good
experiences with this, but mine was not very good at all.  Well, on the way
home we had to stop at the pet store to get Trixie some hay.  And <<<slapping
my wrist>>> I fell in love again <<<slap>>>.....I couldn't help it...It was
love at first sight.  Well, we have her (I think) now.  She is beautiful; she
is a black and white mini lop (the same as Trixie), she has more black on her
than Trixie does. She is smaller than Trixie was when we brought Trixie home.
Which tells me that this rabbit was extremely too young to sell.  I think I may
go get some kitty milk for her to drink....what does everyone think about this?
 I also think that she may be sick...so I am keeping Trixie and her seperated
for now.  BTW I have kicked my self in the ***enough...and I feel guilty
enough for not adopting a bunny....please don't make me aware of what I already
did....<smack>

Congrats on your new baby!!!!   hey fate has a little to do with what
happens (i'd like to think) and whatever happened to make you find her is
just great!!!.....Now ..i adopted a baby mini lop from an unknowing pet
store lately and she fit in the palm of my hand which was too young to
sell...I, like you, thought to give her some kitten milk but figured that I
might do more harm then not and so I didn't ...???
She appeared to be sick too- had sticky stuff on the hairs in the corner of
her eyes ...took her to my vet  who gave her an anti-biotic ... a week later
she gave me anti-biotics to put directly onto her eyes but it still remains
...otherwise her lungs rang clear and everything else is normal and she has
gained *tons* of weight ;) I'm thinking that her tear ducts may not be
properly developed ....? I doubt if it's allergies since everything is
different  in our house compared to the pet shop. let me know why you think
your bunny is sick..........

Thanks for the support guys...I thought that I was going to get flamed for
buying her from the pet store....my new bun has "yuckys" in her eyes...I wipe
them out with a wet rag....Trixie sometimes gets them....I thought they were
just sleepy men.  

Been there, done that :-)   And if I hadn't, I wouldn't have my sweet
Twilight.  She's sick too, and I imagine she survived because she has me to
take care of her.  I know the other bunnies in the pet store with her all
died.  So you'll get no flames from me.  You've probably saved her life.

of course you shouldn't be flamed for buying from a pet shop. This bunny
need a home as much as any other bunny.
I really hope she is not sick and certainly that she won't give anything
to Trixie.
Love works in mysterious ways sometimes, don't it?

There are many different types of rescues.  I think a bunny can be rescued from
a pet store, too.  After all, you have rescued this rabbit from the possible
future of ending up in a shelter, or worse.  Blessings to you!

If she is getting sleep in her eyes and her eyes aren't runny then hopefully it
is nothing to worry about.

Thanks guys...I thought I was definately going to get flamed.  We have a vet
appointment tommorrow....her eyes aren't watery, it's just sleepys.

No names yet....Hopefully the vet will be able to make sure she is a girl (she
may still be too young).  Then I will name her.

No flames here... every little bunny needs a home.  Good luck to you and the

Congratulations on the new bun!  Thanks for saving her/him? from the nigtmare
of an uncaring family and ending up in a shelter. ANY time a loving person
takes a bunny they save a bunny. I hope he/she? doesn't have anything serious.
