ques:new pump/filter setup small pond

I'm currently using a beckett pump inside a beckett filter box in my small
150 gal. goldfish pond. I have recently purchased a pondmaster filter box
that is supposed to be used with 'most' pumps. I would like re-assurance
that I have the setup figured out right? The filterbox is flat and came with
a nozzle and large 3/4" inside dia. tubing that attaches to the side of box.
It is supposed to connect to the pump. My beckett pump has the upward
pointing nozzle that I will connect the diverter and water features to. The
side of the pump has a screw-on 'filter screen', plastic knob like device
with gaps for water to go into. Question is, I believe I am supposed to
unscrew this 'screen' and connect the tubing from the filter right? So the
water goes thru the filters, tubing, back of pump and out thru water
features? If this sounds right, I either need to find a screw-on adapter to
bring the dia. of the opening that the 'screen' was on, down to 3/4" or I
need to find 1" tubing that will fit both ends as is. Anywho.....I dont want
to burn up my pump and would appreciate it if someone can tell me if I am
setting this up correctly.
thanks.

Sandra, you are doing it right, I just don't know if after you remove the
Beckett screen it will be adaptable. If so, then you are doing it right.
Let me know if it is adaptable for future reference. ~ jan

Hi Jan,
thanks for your input, Im glad this looks like it will work as I should be
able to clean filter somewhat less often with a better setup. Last night I
was noticing that the adapter that fits the filter box and brings it down to
3/4" dia also fits the back of the pump exactly right so what I need to do
this weekend is see if our local home depot or osh carries them. I bought 2,
one for the little in ground pond and one for the 75 gal trough pond on
patio.
thanks again.
