I too bring my fish in for the cold months. I live in Maryland . Right now the
nights are getting 50 and 45.. I left my mothers fish out all last year however
and they are as fine and big as those I brought in to keep them warm..
here is about 4 feet deep.My husband is talking about making a green
house over the pond for me so I can enjoy the pond all year long.
I brought in tons of plants the year before and out of all of them I saved
half. I still had some hyacins, and lots of grass. I placed it all in buckets
and set them around the ba***t with a floresent over head light . They did
ok. They were alive and this is what I had in mind. I was sure that they would
not all live, but I saved a couple of hundred dollers that way. I will start to
bring in and or winterize the pond under a green house today. Sun. Sept.
