Someone suggests that I can use a swimming pool light as pond light.
I know nothing about swimming pool light. Can someone enlight me :)
My question are
1) Is the swimming pool light AC or DC based?
2) Which brand is a good one?
Thanks!

Most swimming pool lights need to be hard wired to an electrical system...a
definite challenge. You can use pond lights by Cal or other manufacturers
that are directly plug into an oulet which make things easier.
Most will tell you if they are safe for water where there will be humans or
animals. Nightscaping, a great source for outdoor lighting offers a pond
light, however, it says right in the tech specs it is not to be used in a
pond that will be visited by humans or wildlife....I guess it has the
potential to be a shocking experience.
This brings up the point that no one should EVER go into their pond with
their pump or light plugged in!! I know we all do it sometime, but it only
takes once.

Pretty straight forward. They are very high wattage lamps incased
in water-tight cans imbedded in the pool wall. Mine is directly
beneath the diving board. Produces a nice effect at night, but
nothing I would want in a pond. Personally, I think low-watt
accent lights directed on features above the water would be
more pleasing (i.e., plants, bridges, etc). But that's me.
Standard warning: This is not something for a DIY job.
Electricity, water and people (pets, critters, etc) are a dangerous
mix.
