Solution to Leaking Strainer Basket Lid

Here's an fyi for those of you who use a strainer basket.  Tonight I popped the
lid off of my Hayward strainer basket to perform routine maintenance (rescued
one small comet and several snails).  Upon replacing the lid, I had a hard time
getting it to seal.  I tried several time and each time it would not seal
properly.  Upon examining the O ring, I realized it was not fitting as snug as
normal.  I realized that each time I pressed the lid on, the O ring would get
pushed out of the groove and get pinched, thus causing the lid not to seal.
The weather was quite hot today and I suspect that caused the ring to expand
and be the cause of the problem.  I took the *** O ring and tossed it into
the freezer for a couple of minutes.  I then reistalled the O ring to the lid
and pressed the lid back onto the strainer basket.  The lid popped back into
place with no problems and no leaks.
