When asked whether I would ever have children, my pat response would
always be,

"The only children I would have will bark or meow."

A post on another NG recently pointed up the importance of this.  A man
found himself the owner of two Amazons when a relative suddenly could no
longer care for them due to illness.  The man had never owned or wanted
a bird of any kind, but seemed to be attempting to do his best for his
new family.  How much better would it have been had the relative made
arrangements in advance.

Just wondered if it is common for a CAG to lay an egg and not incubate it
right away.  Ours has an egg, but my hubby thinks they are not incubating it
yet.  TIA for any responses.

They'll often wait until there are several eggs in the nest before
they actually begin to incubate them.
