I have noticed a small reddish pimple close to the mouth of a female hamster
I'm looking after. Does anyone know what this could be?
Thanks

How are her teeth? You can get an overgrowth or broken tooth, and it is
possible in extreme cases to get a tooth poking through the skin or causing
imflamation from the inside. You can usually get them to bite on a hard
treat (those tiny bone shaped dog biscuits perhaps), while*** on to the
other end, and then see if both sets of teeth are even and in contact with
the treat.
If they are heavy cage bar chewers they can get a little sore where the bars
rub. They don't usually get spots as such, but would be the result of an
injury or scratch. If you are at all concerned really the best thing is to
get a vet to have a look.
I hope its nothing serious.

When I was younger I had gerbils. They are crazy rodents. Both gerbils and
hamster are great escapologists :-)

The other one is learn how to build a hamster trap! Thats a waste paper bin
or straight sided pot, with books stacked up the outside to make steps. Soft
tissue (for landing on) a piece of apple or a tiny bit of peanut butter,
which you drag across the floor up the "steps" rub on the side of the bin
and drop in, with a little bit of food. You shut it in the suspected room
overnight and 99 times out of 100 you have a cross hamster in the bin in
the morning.lol!
