I have some very sad news. Adam's hamster died. Poor creature. Adam's friends came over and he was
going to show him to them. He brought me the hamster and said, "I think my hamster is dead." And
then he started crying. I felt so sorry for Adam. He brings his friends over to see his new hamster
and the poor creature is dead. I was up late last nite and the little critter was fine. It curled up
in a little ball and slept in his corner as usual. When Adam brought it to me, it was already cold
and just starting to get firm.

I cleaned out the cage and we went out to get another one. Petsmart only had female hamsters. I
really didn't want to get a stinky female hamster, but what choice did we have? They only produce
the foul, musky scent occasionally. It is also a slightly older hamster. We named her Sandy. Like
Spongebob's friend. The hamster is a dusty, brownish, gray color like a squirrel so the name fits
pretty well. I sure hope she lasts longer than Dexter.

Oh that must be so hard for Adam.  My son loves his hamster and will
be devistated when that day arrives.  Give our condolences and good
luck with Sandy.

And so am I.  Please pass a long a big hug to Adam from another mom
who's really glad to know there is such a good and honorable and kind
young man in the world that the love for a tiny creature can mean so
much.  His devotion to Dexter is a wonderful thing.

I was 39 when we got our first hamster -- my first pet ever.  I was 40
when I first lost a hamster.  I think I'm crying for Adam, for Dexter
and a little still for Max.

God bless all of them.  Such tremendous joy and heartache He can stuff
into a few ounces of fluff.

Blessings,
Jane

I'm so sorry to hear about Dexter:( My thoughts and condolences to you and your
son.

Hopefully Sandy will help ease the pain a little.  Maybe she was a little
angel-ham that Dexter sent your way to help you.

Dad told me about Dexter's passing when Matt and I returned from Georgia
Sunday evening.  Sorry to hear of the little fella's passing.  I hope Adam
is happy with Sandy though and tell him I love him.

Thanks. We tried to handle her the other day.

Adam:    "Puwee! What's that smell."
Me:        "Adam. That. Is your hamster."

LOL!
