Habitrail type tube system attched to cage?

Post by Patrick Timli » Wed, 31 Jan 2001 06:18:07

Two question here actually.

1) I could have sworn I saw them somewhere when I was first researching
Hamsters because my daughter wanted one for Xmas, but isn't there a
company that makes an adapter that allows you to attach tubes to wire
hamster cages? My daughter's hamster is in one of those three story
wire cages. So it is pretty roomy, but I would like to be able to add
on to it now, so am looking for something, maybe that snaps into the
cage doorway, that allows you to now add on habitrail, Sams, etc, tube
systems.

2) Does anyone know where you can buy tubes in bulk for a decent price?
My daughter keeps the cage on the floor at the foot of her bed. My idea
was to make a long run under the bed, the length of the bed, turns
around at the head of the bed, and comes back. This would give him a
nice run for exercise when he is in the mood. However most places sell
tube pieces in single units for a couple bucks each. Clearly to make
this simple loop, it would end up costing a fair amount of money if I
need, say 15 pieces. So I was wondering if there is any place anyone
knows of that sells bulk packages (e.g. a box of 10-parts for $x.xx)?

I could swear that I saw something like that at
http://www.pet-expo.com/ ?  The site's not too organized, so it's hard
to check real quick, but you could just email them and ask.  Also,
they do sell Habitrail tubes pretty cheap, so maybe you could find
what you need for not too much $.

See ya,

Kristen
