Guineas and rats

Howdy all.

We're new pig owners - we just got Ginny LouAnn Piggy-Wiggy a week ago.
We read all that we could find on the web and discovered that rats
mostly frighten guineas - we have a 4 month old male rat too.  Anyway,
being the skeptic, I sat in the lounge chair last night with both to see
what would happen.  They fell in love.  After initial sniffs, they
groomed one another and eventually snuggled up side by side and went to
sleep.  Ginny wanted to stay in with her new friend, so the two new
buddies slept together in the rat house.  Is this unusual?  Anybody else
have any strange bedfellows stories?

Chuck

That must be really neat!  I've never heard of anything like that.  I would
reccomend against housing them together though, because rats _can_ be pretty
territorial with other rodents.  Supervised play time is probably the safest
bet.
Congrats on the new piggie and let us know how she's doing.
