My pet guinea pigs are being sold with a contract requiring that they not be
bred.  Has anyone else tried this?  Judith Moon,

Oh right Judith!
You breed them and then you expect to SELL them and EXPECT them
to not breed.  You are so two-faced!

Hi Judith,

I thought you were going to crawl back under your rock?

Would this contract mean anything though?
What would you do if they did breed these cavies?
How are you going to check whether they are or are not breeding?

Yes, i know. They should be _fed_ to snakes instead.

JH> Has anyone else tried this?

Yes, the snakes tried the piggies and found them excellent.

I do not believe I have ever seen a more witless, two faced and downright
ignorant group as those who have just posted on this thread.  You would
rather stand and***into the wind than to try to solve a problem.  Go
enjoy your ignorance elsewhere.  This list is meant for those who care about
cavies not your egos.  Judith

This very same thing is done with dogs, cats, rats, and ferrets.  It has
been reasonably effective.  The contract when signed by both parties is
entirely enforceable in a court of law.  My attorney drew one up for me when
I raised ferrets.  And I did take one party to small claims court and won.

I think it is better to take a small step in the right direction than to
hide ones head in the sand and ignore the situation.

Can we be serious like John and I are about her doing this?  Or
should I just icknore the notes as I know I could?  She scares me with
her breeding and the fact that she isn't open to allow officials to
come on her land (HSUS and private type,) to inspect her place.  And
yet, she would expect others to NOT breed??  Sorry if this offends
anyone else on this thread besides Judith, but in this thread... I'm
fearful for the guinea pigs.

Regards,
Carolyn

Carolyn,  You are not quoting me correctly again.  My breeding operation
consisting of 11 animals, is adequately inspected by all who come to my
home.  I am in the process of obtaining a USDA license at which time they
will handle the inspections.

You who claim to run a cavy rescue should realize that any effort to reduce
the number of cavies bred is worth looking at and not refusing out of hand.
It is not a god given right to breed every cavy in existence.

My full statement and reason for refusing inspection by you or your friends
is personal.  I also do not want disease and infectious things brought onto
my place, deliberately or not.  My animals are totally free of disease and
any mites, lice or mange at this time and I intend to keep it that way.
