I am still eagerly awaiting the arrival of mine and Britney's( my GP) first
litter. It is now 71 days since she met her mate - Granville. I do not think
she can get any bigger. She seems more tired than ever but this has not
affected her appetite. How much longer can I expect to wait? I am getting
terribly impatient as I am sure she is. Any ideas?

Nicky & Britney, Granville, Arkwright, Puff Ball, Gladys and Cadbury.

Oh, and Merry Christmas to you all.

Hi Nicola,

Well, she should be delivering them any day now! If there is still no sign
of giving birth when she's 73 days preggers, I would wrap her up very comfy
and warm, take her to the vet and have him/her take a good look at her.

But........maybe she is just saving her pups for you as a Christmas present.
Wouldn't that be nice?

Lots of awaiting wheeks,

Esther (the piggie slave)

Hi Nicky

Sows come into season every 15-17 days, so if you put her with the boar when
she had just finished her cycle, then she could be a bit behind your
reckoning. Sorry to put a downer on it, but she could only be say, for
example, 60 days.

I wouldn't worry about her too much, as some of my pigs have grown until I
thought they were going to pop  LOL
However, keep a close eye on her, and if she shows signs of discomfort or
pain, then you might want to take her to the vet just to get her checked
out. As I said though, try not to worry  :O)

Good luck!!

John.
