I can't beleive my eyes. I let out one of my ferrets to play (the
other was sleeping), he runs around, watches me make a sandwich, then
backs right into a corner while I was watching and takes a dump. I
grabbed the thing, dragged it to one of its poop dishes out-side the
cage, plopped him in there for 3 mins, then dragged him to his poop
dish in the cage and made him sit in it for 3 mins, then I closed the
cage on him..

Silly Fereet.

How close was that ferret box?
The little ***s are LAZY when it comes to lavitory skills.  They like to go
where ever its "convienient" to them.  I have that problem when mine are loose
in a large room.  AKA the whole apt.  I'm going to begin working on them in
each individual room.  There are some great articless at www.ferretcentral.org
on the wonderful task of litterbox reinforcement.

Aw gee Dave! <grin>
Bet ya  he was just making sure you were paying attention!
I think sometime our little fuzz-butts have a really bizarre definition
of "comedy"!  ..... did it look like he might be, um....laughing while he
did it?!?  <grin> :)

I totally gave up on trying to get them to go anywhere special when
they are outside their cage.  Instead, the Sunday paper gets divided
into every corner, and that covers most of the problem, then I watch
them to see if there are any other places they are backing into, and
as they do I grab them and put them on the nearest paper.  I also put
things in some of the corners to block them from being bathrooms.7
