Cute story of missing ferrets

Hi everyone.
Here is a cute little story about one of my fuzzy babies missing.  I have
2 children that I always have to tell to be careful not to let the ferrets
get out when they are coming or going out the door.  I have 2 ferrets that
ocasionally have slipped out the door, and I was always franic about
getting them back.  I have always been lucky and got them back.
My one ferret never leaves the yard and waits to get back in the house
when she is done exploring the big outside world of the yard.  The other
ferret was lost for 6 days.  I thought I would never see her again.  I was
heart broke.  I left my number with all the vets and pet stores in the area
and the police as well.  When these people found her in their yard, they
called the police and we were united.  Thank God. She had wandered about a
half a mile from home.  I was lucky again.
This one day I noticed that the wanderer,Pukie, had not been seen for
a few hours.  I started questioning my children to see if anyone left the
door open or if anyone had seen her lurking at the door.  No one knew
anything.  The next morning, she still had not been seen.  I was really
starting to worry.  She had not been seen for over 12 hours.  I started to
search the neighborhood and ask people if they saw her.  I made all the
usual calls to the pet stores and vets and left my number.  Now it was
about 18 hours.  I was on the  phone with the police when I noticed, out of
the corner of my eye ,my coat was moving all by its self.  It was***
on a coat rack.  I ran over and low and behold, my Sukie had climbed up the
pole and got in my coat pocket.  The pocket had a tiny hole that lead
inside to the lining.  You know, that place where all your change disapears
into your coat and never to be seen again. She must have forced herself
through the hole and was stuck in the lining.  I had to cut the pocket out
in order to free her. The poor baby.  She was in there for almost a full
night and day.  I always wonder what would have happened if I didn't see
the wiggle.  Would she have starved in there?  When winter came and I went
to wear my coat, would I have been horrified!  She isnt verbal.  She
couldn't call out.
These little babies are so curious.  I just love them and try to do
everything I can to protect them from themselves, but boy, they still find
mischief.
I really enjoy this news group and love the cute stories and have
learned a lot from the people here.                            Sharon
